The HOST Symposium is returning for its 12th year, and general registration is open now. The IEEE International Symposium on Hardware-Oriented Security and Trust (HOST) aims to accelerate and assist the development of hardware-based security technologies.

With the advent of Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices, new avenues of attack have opened up for nefarious hackers—what was previously focused on computers, defense, automotive, and industrial has now expanded to include wearable devices, appliances, and more. As such, it’s more important than ever to make sure these devices are as secure as possible. As systems become ever increasingly complex and designs continue to grow, questions of security become harder to answer—and the HOST Symposium seeks to shed light on these questions.

Cadence has a presence at the HOST Symposium this year—on Monday at 3:30, Adam Sherer will be representing Cadence in a multi-company tutorial session, alongside representatives from Tortuga Logic, Intel, and Xilinx. This tutorial will talk about having a strong development cycle for security design, and how that can assist designers in avoiding exploits.

On Tuesday, Adam will again be representing Cadence in a panel discussion on security in non-digital contexts, like analog, RF, package, and board, with a goal of highlighting new research in these areas. This panel takes place at 5:00.

The HOST Symposium—in Tyson’s Corner, VA—begins on May 6th and runs through the 10th, and you can register here to snag a pass.
