The development of new SoC designs is a constant battle between those who create and those who destroy, and at this panel you’ll get to hear what the forces of justice are doing to keep vulnerabilities patched and impenetrable. As devices grow in complexity, the need for good security grows with it—with IoT devices increasing in market share, the question of “How do I keep hackers out of my fridge?” shifts from a question one may have joked about a decade ago to a real, serious question we must consider the implications of now—gaining access to an internet-connected fridge may seem benign, but gaining access to an internet-connected car is not.
On the Accellera panel, experts will handle these very questions, addressing the challenges and new approaches associated with IP security in 2019 and—prospectively—beyond. If you attend, you’ll hear about the new responsibilities system architects, program managers, and engineers have with regards to the development of secure systems; the requirements a development process needs to meet to be considered “trusted and secure”, the security levels of IP blocks and how to sustain security through SoC integration, and the sustainability of security for products already on the market as new threats arise.
The panel will open with a series of questions from the panel moderator; questions like “Is security at the IP level sufficient?”, “How does one create a culture of security in an organization?”, “Why isn’t security pervasive in design and verification right now?”, “Where in the design flow should the industry focus its security efforts?” and more.
