On March 28th, 2019, Cadence Design Systems announced an expanded collaboration with Northrop Grumman centering on advanced-node SoC projects. Cadence’s cutting-edge verification tools are combining with Northrup Grumman’s expertise to deliver high performance ASICs  more efficiently. Northrop Grumman will be using the full flow of Cadence ASIC development tools including verification, digital synthesis and implementation, signoff, custom/analog and packaging.  The release reports that these tools plus Cadence Design IP and Services solutions have contributed to a shortened product development cycle at Northrop.

This partnership has a rich history: Cadence has been working with Northrup Grumman for over twenty years now, providing tools and services to the aerospace and defense powerhouse.

“Through our ongoing collaboration with Northrop Grumman, we’re continuing to develop and impart our expertise and capabilities in the aerospace and defense industry, enabling high quality, cost effective, and first pass IC design success of the complex advanced node SoCs required by the industry,” said Paul Cunningham, corporate vice president and general manager of the System & Verification Group at Cadence.

Cadence has a lot to offer those in the aerospace and defense industries, including the Palladium Z1 Enterprise Emulation Platform. There’s a wide variety of system design and verification tools for both digital and mixed-signal contexts, as well as design IP and methodologies for just about every situation.
