In a few short weeks DVCon 2012 will be upon us (Feb. 27 - March 1 in San Jose), and Team Verify and our colleagues on the Incisive Verification team will be there in force supporting tutorials, panels, papers, and of course the afternoon expo with our partners.  Focusing on the formal and assertion-based verification (ABV) aspects of this show, here are the highlights to seek out:

* On Tuesday February 28, there is a whole session focused on "Formal Techniques".  Of particular interest to Incisive Enterprise Verifier ("IEV") users will be a paper 5.2, "Shaping Formal Traces Without Constraints: A Case Study in Closing Code Coverage on a Crypto Engine Using Formal Verification".  Without giving too much away in advance, this paper will show a very clever application of using formal and simulation together on a very challenging DUT.

* On Thursday March 1, from 8:30am to Noon, Team Verify will be hosting a tutorial on "Using ‘Apps' to Take Formal Analysis Mainstream".  In this video interview with Industry Insights columnist Richard Goering, the event organizer -- our own Joe Hupcey III -- introduces what "apps" mean in the formal and ABV context, shares some examples, and introduces the technical speakers.

If the video doesn't play, click here.

Plus: here is a link to the tutorial abstract for more info.

Note: You can add this tutorial to a "Full Conference + 4 Tutorials" package, or a "Full Conference + 8 Tutorials" package.  If you would like to attend this tutorial only, the cost is $75.00. This includes coffee breaks, lunch and speaker slides on a USB Drive.  If you'd like to register now, click here.

* At the expo on Tuesday and Wednesday, our main booth demo will focus on the increasingly popular "coverage unreachability" flow with IEV.  However, experts Bin Ju, Darrow Chu, and Chris Komar also welcome any questions you may have about formal, multi-engine, and ABV technologies, methodologies, and best practices in general.

* Last but not least, if the Linux device driver gods cooperate, you just might see the wildly popular Incisive Formal Verifier-powered Lego Mindstorms Rubik's Cube solving robot ....

Hope to see you soon!
